Note

Primarily documents Eugene Loring's work as a choreographer and dance educator from 1938 to 1981.
The largest series of papers is that of production and choreographic notes which includes works such as "Billy the Kid" and "The Great American Goof."
Two series pertain to his work as a dance educator: The American School of Dance, 1948-1974, and The University of California at Irvine, 1965-1981. Both include extensive syllabi and class descriptions of ballet and other dance techniques.
Other smaller series are writings by Loring comprising diaries, addresses, essays, and lectures, and correspondence, 1940-1981. The latter contains various cards and letters written to Loring with no substantial run of letters from any single correspondent.
