Summary

Reflections on the training and career of a professional ballet dancer, as seen through the eyes of three young dancers, Elizabeth Donkerbrook, Yarrow Adelman, and Phillip Scott, and their elders Norbert Vesak and Melinda Bach, respectively artistic director and assistant artistic director of the Marin Ballet. They discuss their aspirations, proper mental attitudes, the challenges and sacrifices of a dancer's career, the process of working on a piece, and the gratifications of performing. The three dancers are seen along with others in classes given by Vesak and guest instructor Dietmar Seyffert; Adelman and Scott are also seen rehearsing a pas de deux choreographed by Seyffert. In conclusion, the three are seen in stage performances.
