Summary
Music of the matepe (a type of mbira, or thumb piano), played by the Shona people of Rhodesia. The film opens with a solo performance by Thomas Dzamwarira, who sings and plays the matepe. In a ritual in the village of matepe player Saini Murira, music and dancing are employed to call the mhondoro spirits, who are responsible for healing.
