- Summary
- Lisa de Ribère and Robert La Fosse, who danced with both American Ballet Theatre and the New York City Ballet, contrast professional life in the two companies, comparing each company's policies and practices regarding company class, rehearsals and coaching, casting, repertory, and opportunities for young choreographers. The two guests also reminisce about working with Erik Bruhn. La Fosse is seen with Susan Jaffe in an excerpt from Lynne Taylor-Corbett's Great galloping Gottschalk, and his own choreography is represented by an excerpt from Yesterdays. An excerpt from de Ribère's Quasars is also screened. In an untitled additional feature, Betty Jones reminisces about working with José Limón and Doris Humphrey. She is seen in a b&w excerpt of The moor's pavane with Limón, Lucas Hoving, and Pauline Koner.
