Summary
Choreographers Randy Warshaw, Ulysses Dove, and Mark Dendy talk about their work, including the responses they hope to elicit from their audiences, their decision to depart from traditional gender roles in their choreography, the problems of economic survival, especially in running a dance company, and the problems of creating works for repertory companies. Dance excerpts include Warshaw's Sanctus and Fragile anchor, Dendy's Wave and Torn, and Dove's Night shade and Bad blood (seen in a studio rehearsal by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater). Footage of Dendy performing a solo appears under the closing credits.
