Summary
Choreographers Lar Lubovitch and Mark Morris talk about the challenges of choreographing modern dance works for ballet companies. They also discuss their association when Morris was a member of the Lubovitch company, the reasons why they left the ballet world, and their philosophy of dance as a way of life. The program is illustrated with numerous dance excerpts, depicting Lubovitch's Exsultate jubilate, Concerto six twenty-two, and Cavalcade, and Morris's Gloria, Mort subite (danced by the Boston Ballet), Marble halls, and Stabat mater.
