- Summary
- Guests are three Asian dancers, Desak Ketut Suarni of Bali, Du-Yee Chang of Korea, and Chiang Ching of China. They talk about how they learned the ritual dances of their cultures, who may perform these dances and the occasions on which they are danced, and male/female distinctions in these dances. Chang performs an excerpt from Salpuri, a Korean shamanistic dance; Suarni demonstrates some movements of Balinese dance and an excerpt of the legong; and Chiang performs two dances of the Han people of China. In Esoterica balletica, John Neumeier contrasts the advantages and disadvantages of job security (or its lack) in German and American ballet companies.
