Summary
Members of the d'Amboise family--Jacques, his wife Carolyn, his son Christopher, and his twin daughters Charlotte and Kate--discuss aspects of their family dynamics, including the role of family members as advisers or teachers, competition, and the question of balancing motherhood and a ballet career. The whole family performs an improvisation led by Jacques. In Esoterica balletica, Nancy Reynolds comments upon the difficult realities of a dancer's life, as detailed in Joan Brady's book The unmaking of a dancer and Toni Bentley's Winter season.
