Summary
Guests are Carolyn Adams, a former principal dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and her mother Olive Adams, musical director of Harlem Dance Foundation, and Leslie and Laurie Woodard, sisters who perform with Dance Theatre of Harlem. The discussion centers upon different aspects of dealing with family relationships and interactions within the world of dance; another topic is the change in attitudes towards black dancers in the U.S. In the opening of the program Carolyn Adams and Alexis Delphin dance the duet from Santa Claus and the unicorn, choreographed by Julie Adams Strandberg to music by Olive Adams. In Esoterica balletica, Nancy Reynolds presents capsule reviews of The ballet quiz book by James and Constance Camner and the Biographical dictionary of dance by Barbara Naomi Cohen-Stratyner.
