Robert Dunn, a former member of Judson Dance Theater and a noted teacher of composition and music, and Kenneth King, who prefers the term dancemaker to choreographer, discuss various aspects of choreography, among them the relation of music and dance, the teaching of composition, and the uses of film or video, improvisation, stories (or their equivalents), and everyday movement. King performs an excerpt from On the spot, to music by William Tudor.
