- Summary
- Choreographers James Cunningham and Matthew Nash talk about various aspects of the use of humor in their dances. They discuss how they first began to use humor, some sources of their ideas, and how they incorporate text and theatrical elements into their works. To open the program, Nash and Sylvia Nolan perform an excerpt from his Elements of style, which he later discusses. Cunningham performs a parody commercial. In Esoterica balletica, Betty Low tells an anecdote about performing in the premiere of David Lichine's Le pavillon, in costumes designed by Cecil Beaton.
