Howard Wise, president/founder of Electronic Arts Intermix, and Barbara Bryant, vice-president of Phoenix Films and Video, talk about their roles as distributors of pre-recorded dance for the commercial market. They debate the advantages and disadvantages of recorded dance, compare the differences between video and film as a medium for dance, conjecture about the future of film and video dance, and comment upon popular titles in their catalogs and the qualities they seek in programs they plan to distribute. Color excerpts from Eliot Feld's made-for-video version of Tzaddik and John McFall's Tealia, the latter danced by Betsy Erickson and Vane Vest of the San Francisco Ballet, illustrate their remarks.
