Summary
Documentary on the creation of the work Social dancing, choreographed by Rachel Lampert in 1990 for students of the Department of Dance at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Focusing on Lampert's collaboration with composer Marc Warren Katz, the documentary captures many stages of the creative process, beginning with her initial improvisations in the studio, auditions, and rehearsals; numerous performance excerpts are also included. In addition to commentaries by the choreographer and composer, the dancers Joi Harper, Ginger Sable, Michael Holler, and Terry Bellamy contribute their experiences of working on the dance.
