Principal topics of discussion are Hill's life and career, Bennington College and its School of the Dance, the Juilliard School's dance division, Juilliard Dance Theater, and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).

Hill and Wolz discuss various aspects of training dancers, taking HKAPA and Juilliard as examples. They explore the role of dance as a global link, citing Hong Kong's International Festival of Dance Academies and International Dance Conference, and the Asia-Pacific Dance Alliance. -- Interview with Janice Meaden, HKAPA faculty member (approx. 44 min.). Hill recalls her pioneering work at New York University, Bennington College, and the Juilliard School; pays tribute to Juilliard's William Schuman; and looks back over her six-year association with HKAPA. -- Cassette 2 (approx. 154 min. total): Interview with Marcia Siegel (approx. 35 min.). Hill reminisces about a little-known part of her career, her work as dancer, choreographer, and teacher in the 1920s. She also discusses her training, "conversion" to Martha Graham's new dance form, and work at Bennington College. -- Interview with Daniel Lewis (approx. 30 min.). Hill and Lewis, a Juilliard graduate, talk about the experience of studying at Juilliard and working with José Limón. Lewis describes how he has applied lessons learned from Hill to his work as dean of the New World School of the Arts in Miami. -- Interview with Madeleine Nichols, curator of the Dance Collection of New York Public Library (approx. 29 min.).   • program that she initiated at Juilliard to document Doris Humphrey's last work, the Brandenburg concerto. She and Nichols discuss Dwight Godwin's filmmaking expertise, Anna Sokolow's use of film and video in revivals of her works, and the use of film/video in conjunction with notation as a means of preserving and reconstructing dances. -- Interview with Janet Soares and Ray Cook (approx. 60 min.). Taped at extended play speed; must be played back on 3-speed machine. Hill and Juilliard graduates Soares and Cook reminisce about Juilliard Dance Theater, and the contributions of Humphrey and Tudor as faculty members. Hill also recalls her achievements as dancer, choreographer, and director. -- Cassette 3 (approx. 95 min. total): Three-part interview with Thomas Brown, HKAPA faculty member. The first part (approx. 55 min.) covers Hill's early training and career up until the time of her work at Bennington, including a discussion of Humphrey's personality and choreography, notably With my red fires. In the second part (approx. 28 min.), Hill continues her reminiscences of Bennington and talks about the beginnings of dance in the educational system, the effects of the political events of the 1930s, and some recent revivals by HKAPA. The third part (approx. 12 min.) focuses on Carl Wolz and his achievements at HKAPA.
