- Produced by Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. Directed by Nick Manning. Camera: Nick Manning and Aleks Rosenberg. Filmed during a dance festival on Cornwall Island in the St. Lawrence river, part of the St. Regis (Akwesasne) Reserve of the Mohawk Indians. Music performed by the Akwesasne Singers and Musicians. SUMMARY: Part 1 (15 min.) shows nine dances of the Mohawks, the easternmost tribe of the Iroquois League: Women's dance, Fish dance, Stomp dance, Smoke dance, Duck dance, Rabbit dance, Shaking the bush, Robin dance, and Round dance. Part 2 (10 min.) concentrates on illustrating the technique in five of the dances, with special emphasis on the foot movements.
