The ballet Giselle (1841) is presented in a version for four dancers, with piano and viola accompaniment. Excerpts include the opening scene, courting scene, accusation and mad scenes, Giselle's initiation, Albrecht's visit to the grave and duet with Giselle, and the concluding eleven minutes. Cast: Margaret Barbieri (Giselle), Nicholas Johnson (Albrecht), Marion Tait (Queen of the Wilis), and Fergus Early (Hilarion). Also shown is the opening scene from Bournonville's La sylphide, with Bridget Taylor (Sylph) and Fergus Early (James)
