Elinor Rogosin introduces her guests, the senior director of marketing affairs of TWA [Trans World Airline], identified as "Mr. Fegine" [phonetic spelling], and Sherwin M. Goldman, President of Ballet Theatre Foundation; Mr. Fegine speaks about TWA's financial support of American Ballet Theatre, in particular in connection with the company's European tour; Goldman speaks about the costs of running American Ballet Theatre; the transition from a touring company to a company with longer residencies; the high costs of production relative to that of the dancers' salaries and benefits; raising money from private and public sources; Mr. Fegine speaks about TWA's support of the performing arts including its role in showing a positive image of the United States overseas; Goldman speaks about the lack of corporate support generally for the arts and the difficulty of finding a stable source of support for the company; Mr. Fegine speaks about the benefits to TWA emanating from its support of American Ballet Theatre; Goldman comments on his remarks.
