- Lydia Joel introduces the ceremony's hosts, Jean Gordon [who does not speak in this recording] and Rudolf Orthwine; brief prefatory remarks by Orthwine; Joel introduces the recipients of the awards, Margot Fonteyn, Bob Fosse, and Isadora Bennett, as well as Donald Duncan who is the presenter of Bennett's award; Duncan speaks about Bennett's career; reads the award citation; Bennett gives her acceptance speech; Joel introduces Abe Burrows, who is the presenter of Fosse's award; Burrows speaks about Fosse and musical comedy as well as reading the award citation [short gap]; Fosse gives his acceptance speech including an anecdote about his father; Joel introduces Frederick Ashton who is the presenter of Fonteyn's award; Ashton speaks about Fonteyn, in particular their long collaboration; reads the award citation; Fonteyn gives her acceptance speech, including her approval of subsidies for the arts; Joel's closing remark.
