- Disc 1. Miss Graham discusses the elements of good performance, the particular performance problems facing the modern dancer as compared with the ballet dancer, her role in Appalachian spring, teaching the art of performing. Disc 2. Miss Graham discusses the flow of energy in dancing, infusing the same movement with different meanings as in Night journey, Every soul is a circus, and Cave of the heart, the modern dancer's dual role of choreographer-performer, revising and reworking The triumph of St. Joan, her philosophy of dance.
