- Summary
- Views of journalist, author, the first African American radio staff announcer (WMCA Chicago) and publicity director Roi Ottley. The collection consist of a number of studio portraits, some of which are publicity stills, some showing Ottley in uniform, dated from the 1940s through the 1950s. The collection also consists of Ottley in group portraits in WMCA recording studio; posing with unidentified women; and attending an event at the Savoy Ballroom. Individuals identified in group portraits with Ottley include Bucklin Moon, C.L. Alexander, Jean Blackwell Hutson, Arna Bontemps, John McCaffery and Clara Clasen. Also, two portraits of Ottley's wives. Half, three-quarter and full-length portraits are included.
